Pressed Veneer European Slab Doors
Our new Pressed Veneer Slab Door Style combines a European look with the familiar look and feel of a standard five piece door. The real wood veneer face is pressed on a solid wood frame miter door. There are several advantages of constructing the door this way.
- We are able to shape the outside edge with a large radius or a large bevel prior to pressing the wood veneer onto the door. This creates a slab door that is more visually appealing. The gentle sloping outside radius edge creates a “pillow” effect and gives the door a “softer” look, contrasting the sharp edges of the common edge banded doors. The door with the large beveled edge creates clean, eye catching lines and helps break up long runs of cabinets.
- The second advantage is that the frame is made of two inches of solid wood, thus eliminating the need for edge banding. The back of the door gives a similar appearance to a standard miter door with a recessed panel. The solid wood frame allows for standard European hinges to be used.
- The third advantage to making the door this way is it allows you to choose any species of veneer to press onto the face, creating a very custom and exceptionally unique door.
